Leicester City could sell the Belgian in the summer if he does not renew his contract.

The past few weeks have been very demanding for Leicester City. The Foxes have struggled for results and have seen them drop down the league table. Brendan Rodgers has tried to force a reaction from his squad, and it may be yielding dividends.

While Rodgers has tried to get his side back to winning ways, he has also had to fend off reports of several of his players linked with moves away from the club. The season has reached its business end, and news like this could be distracting, but Rodgers has done a splendid job in keeping his team together.

There were rumours linking James Maddison and Wesley Fofana with other teams. Youri Tielemans has also been the subject of a transfer away from Leicester City.

Tielemans in Arsenal link

Youri Tielemans is in the news again, and Leicester must have grown tired of the constant rumours linking its players to other clubs. Having to debunk such reports every week could be exhausting. According to reports, the latest team interested in a Leicester player is Arsenal. The Gunners are interested in the Belgian midfielder.

Tielemans’ contract situation with the Foxes is generating tension at Leicester and fuels rumours of a move away from the team. The latest report is that the Belgian has rejected the chance to sign a new contract to remain at Leicester City. It has led to insinuations that the midfielder could leave the Foxes soon. With the rumours growing, Leicester City is set to demand around £40m for Tielemans.

Mikel Arteta wants several players as a host of departures are expected at the Emirates in the summer. Arteta is trying to rebuild the squad, and Tielemans would be a solid addition to his team.

Rodgers debunks the rumours

With rumours swirling around Tielemans, Rodgers is adamant that the Belgian midfielder would remain at the King Power stadium.

Tielemans played for the Foxes against West Ham on Sunday. The midfielder put in a decent shift in the 2-2 draw with the Hammers. Speaking to BBC after the game, Brendan Rodgers debunked reports of a move away from Leicester.

As per Sports Mole, Rodgers made it clear that Tielemans had not rejected a new contract. Rodgers said he had read the reports, but nothing had changed. The Leicester boss believes the Belgian would continue to work well till his final day at the club.

Tielemans’ contract with Foxes expires in the summer of 2023, but he has not shown any indication of extending the deal. Leicester City wants to avoid a situation where Tielemans leaves the club for free. If he refuses to extend his current contract, they would have to sell in the summer.

Tielemans may be seeing his last days at the King Power stadium.
