Top clubs are always looking to bolster their squad and improve their personnel. The opportunity to improve the team and play better is to put the team in a position to win titles. It means that players in the team are always on their toes and have to keep their game at the top level.

Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United are top teams with different sizes to their resources. Every day the competition gets tougher as they all try to bring the best players and managers around. The chances of their paths crossing are high as they usually have their eyes on the same set of players.

Another battle is on the cards as Chelsea and Liverpool may hit the trenches with both teams eyeing the same player. Newcastle’s Allan Saint-Maximin is the player of interest for the two English giants.

Allan Saint-Maximin: A wanted man

Chelsea have only lost one game this season, while Liverpool sits top of the table. Despite this, both teams have their eyes on the future and are looking for reinforcements. A few players within their ranks have not been up to speed.

Italian publication CalcioMercato reports that Allan Saint-Maximin is drawing interest from several clubs in England, with Chelsea and Liverpool ahead of the queue. The two clubs are optimistic about swaying the Frenchman from Newcastle during the next transfer window.

Despite their progress under Tuchel, Chelsea has not been able to get Kai Havertz and Timo Werner to perform at optimum. Both players have not delivered on the promise they showed while in Germany, and at Chelsea, patience is a commodity they have in short supply. It is probably why Allan Saint-Maximin is drawing the attention of the eggheads at Stamford Bridge.

Saint-Maximin: Newcastle’s crown jewel

Allan Saint-Maximin is the biggest attacking threat at Tyneside, and the club now has a job on their hands to fend off interest from top clubs. The January transfer window poses an interesting one, with the Toons looking to hold on to their prized jewel.

Though figures have not been mentioned but should the Frenchman leave, it would be for a sizable amount. It definitely won’t be easy to prise the player away from St James’ Park.

Liverpool, despite the arrival of Thiago, are in search of fresh legs behind the front three, and Saint-Maximin fits the bill for Jurgen Klopp.

The Magpies are still without a win this season, and Saint-Maximin would find a move to either Chelsea or Liverpool an interesting proposition. The big question remains, where the Frenchman would end up in January - Chelsea, Liverpool or Newcastle? The clock is ticking.

There could be a potential move in January, and we’ll have all of the top news and transfer updates for you to follow here on Betpack.
