The managerial song and dance at Manchester United is still on despite the sacking of the ineffectual Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. It seems that football is not of paramount importance to the hierarchy at United as the decisions they have made has shown.
Manchester United have become the laughing stock of the football world with the plethora of bad decisions made by the club. Despite the poor results and lack ofntity shown by the team under Ole, it took the heckling of fans for the Norwegian to get the boot.
Other clubs fire their managers and replace them almost immediately, without hue and cry. However, Manchester United have made a song and dance of finding a replacement for Solskjaer.
Michael Carrick is to take over on an interim basis before being replaced by an interim manager to see the team to the end of the season when they will hire permanently. There possibly isn’t a joke funnier than that.
It all smacks of incompetence, and it won’t be a surprise if the team wallows in the muck for a lengthy period.
Meanwhile, Mauricio Pochettino tops the list of managers who want to take over the United job.
Manchester United are in the market for a new manager following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. United have several names on the list for the job, but a lack of plan andction seems to be the bane of the club in pinning a name to the banner.
Zinedine Zidane was the shoo-in favourite to land the job. However, the Frenchman has shown no interest in the position. Perhaps, the non-interest is out of irritation by the unprofessional way they are managing the club.
PSG players believe that their Argentine manager Mauricio Pochettino could leave for the Manchester United job. According to reports, this could happen in a few weeks. Manchester United are interested in the former Tottenham manager as a replacement for Solskjaer.
Pochettino has emerged as the favourite to land the job with Joel Glazer, keen on bringing the Argentine to Old Trafford. Pochettino is still under contract at PSG, with his current deal running out in 2023.
United will have to buy out his contract, which runs into almost ten million pounds to bring him to Old Trafford.
According to Marca, several PSG stars expect Pochettino to leave for United soon.
A few PSG stars expect Pochettino to leave his position soon, leaving a vacancy at the capital club. The PSG players hope that Zidane is appointed to replace the Argentine after his departure.
Recent reports suggest that Zidane has already turned down the opportunity to manage Manchester United, with the French national team or PSG the only team that catches his fancy.
While Pochettino is in Paris, his family has remained in London, suggesting that the 49-year-old could make a mid-season move back to England.
