Manchester City is known to be proactive when negotiating with new arrivals, and this has reportedly got various players in a frenzy over who could be the big-name signing this summer. And as usual, lots of Manchester City news are consisting the majority during the pre-season.

While Pep Guardiola seems to have taken an interest in Jack Grealish and Harry Kane, transfers from other clubs should not be ruled out just yet.

City officials aren’t too worried about strengthening the midfield just yet. But that hasn’t stopped the media from speculating about the club’s interest in onboarding a Serie A midfielder from Italy.

According to the latest reports, Manchester City is quite interested in acquiring Napoli’s Piotr Zielinski. Rumours suggest Pep instructed Etihad officials to sign the 27-year-old Polish midfielder this summer. While the players are currently on vacation, reports suggest Zielinski is most likely to receive an offer at Napoli. Several clubs have already enquired about a possible move.

Manchester City does not share a cordial relationship with Napoli following a disastrous discussion regarding Jorginho’s transfer a few years back. Recent reports also claimed City would not be opening talks with Napoli over Fabian Ruiz. And just days prior, another story claiming Aurelio de Laurentiis’ unwillingness to negotiate with City had surfaced.

Riqui Puig Interested in Moving to Etihad

Barcelona’s emerging midfielder Riqui Puig has expressed his desire to play for Manchester City. However, Camp Nou has no plans to release the young talent for the time being. Riqui’s official statement read, “Considering my style of playing football; I’d love to play at Manchester City. But I don’t plan on leaving Barcelona just yet”.

Puig has bold ambitions. While fans believe that the youngster has a bright career ahead of him if he moves to the Premier League under the patronage of Pep Guardiola, he has other plans. Puig wants to establish himself in La Liga before moving out.

“I am very ambitious and am not satisfied by the minutes that I receive. I want to play many matches in La Liga, score goals, win titles and be a recognised player so that when I move to other leagues, the fans know me there”, he explained.

Manchester City was reportedly interested in Puig late last year. However, the rumours were far-fetched, and nothing materialised from that point forward.
