Spanish Giants Barcelona are considering a shock swap deal that will see Antoine Griezmann join Juventus while Paulo Dybala is expected to move the other way.

Barcelona are in a tight spot financially and will have to massively reduce their wage bill to sign new players. The Catalan club will look to get Griezmann, who earns £300,000, off the wage bill.

Griezman, who was part of the underwhelming French squad in the EURO 2020, is now back in training with the Catalan club. Barcelona have made contact with Juventus over the potential swap.

According to L'Equipe, Griezmann is interested in moving back to Atletico Madrid, looking forward to recapturing his glory days with Atletico. Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone is reportedly interested in bringing the striker back to Madrid and is said to hold the Frenchman in high esteem.

Atletico president Enrique Cerezo did not rule out a move for Griezmann and has instead admitted that everything is possible. He maintained that Barca haven't made any contact with his club. Cerezo insisted that everything is possible in the world of football, but added that he knows nothing concerning Griezmann's return.

Was the £107 million worth it?

Griezman has faced heavy criticism since he made his £107 million move to Camp Nou in the summer of 2019. He has failed to replicate the form that made Barcelona shell out the massive fee demanded by Atletico.

Griezman has managed 35 goals in the two seasons since he joined the Spanish Giants. He scored 20 goals in all competitions in the 2020/21 season.

The French striker would now be expected to depart the Camp Nou. His departure would free up the funds needed to secure the services of Lionel Messi. Messi, who is currently a free agent, has reportedly agreed to the terms of a new contract with Barcelona.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are arguably the greatest players to play the game. However, both players face uncertainties in their respective club futures. Whatever happens with both players, Betpack will keep you updated.
