Following the recent acquisitions of Memphis Depay and Sergio Aguero, Barcelona is said to be open to bids for Francisco Trincao, according to a report in Spanish magazine Sportslens. With Trincao’s playing time set to be even more peripheral with the acquisitions of Depay and Aguero, Barcelona is willing to listen to clubs who may want to take him off their hands.

Memphis Depay and Sergio Aguero

Depay has been linked with a move to the Blaugrana on many occasions over the previous few months, and his free transfer was finally confirmed on Saturday. He joins Sergio Aguero as the club's second striker acquisition of the summer transfer window and this has seen Barcelona looking to unload several offensive players.

Even though Trincao is highly valued by the club, they think that the Portuguese player would be one of the players who would guarantee them a big transfer fee. The player was bought from Braga for €21 million last year, with Abel Ruiz, who was valued at €9 million, moving the other way as part of the double transfer.

Transfer price for Trincao

The asking price for the Barcelona striker is expected to be around the €30 million mark for his services, and one of the Premier League clubs already showing an interest in him is Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers. With Diego Jota having recently moved to Liverpool, Wolves have been struggling to find a suitable replacement for the free-scoring midfielder. However, some of the most reputable bookmakers were even putting bets against the transfer this early.

With 42 appearances in his first season, Trincao mostly played as a substitute. As a result of Depay's arrival, his playing time may be cut even more, and the club seems ready to cash on his services if an agreement can be struck. Trincao has recently joined the agency of Jorge Mendes who has brought several players to the Midlands side in recent years and this trend will seemingly continue with this transfer.
