No Kane for Manchester City – Griezmann being targeted

This summer, Manchester City wants to make a splash in the transfer market. Being one step away from winning the UEFA Champions League has prompted speculation that the club’s owners may decide to make a significant investment to bring in a new star to provide Pep Guardiola with more options for next season.

Grealish and Kane – expensive

Jack Grealish and Harry Kane have emerged as the top targets, but their expensive transfer fees make it difficult to sign them at this moment. An additional difficulty with these signings is that they have a long way to go before the end of their respective contracts with their current clubs, which means that their parent clubs hold all the aces when it comes to the negotiation process.

Even though they still aim to acquire Grealish, for whom they will make an offer above 100 million Euros, Manchester City has an alternative plan if the prospective deal for Kane does not happen. They want to add that player that gives them the star quality that eluded them in the final of the UEFA Champions League.

Griezmann - replacement for Aguero

It is being reported by Fuchajes.net that Antoine Griezmann is, in Pep Guardiola’s opinion, that player. Griezmann is a long time admirer of Guardiola, as Guardiola is of him. The manager of the champions of England says that the acquisition of the Frenchman will give his squad that extra dimension in the attacking and goalscoring departments going into the new season.

City could take advantage of the financial difficulties that Barcelona finds itself in and may be willing to make a formal offer for the Frenchman and complete a transfer that is beneficial to all parties. To play for one of the best teams in the world, under the guidance of one of the best managers in the world, might prove irresistible for the Frenchman.

Barcelona are keen

It has been reported that Barcelona is keen to move one of its highest wage earners to another club, but only for a fee that is acceptable to both parties. Guardiola is familiar with Griezmann and thinks that the player could seamlessly slot into the position vacated by Aguero. The French striker is aware that Barcelona is in favour of his move away from the Nou Camp, and this could be the catalyst he requires to make a move to one of Europe’s leading lights.
